Suffolk PhotoLoop Rideout

17th September 2023

How do you fancy riding a planned 60 mile route that include two photo locations and multiple opportunities to get the perfect image of you on your bike?

How does it work?

The Suffolk route starts, and ends at the Broken Egg Cafe in Harleston.  Where you can just start, have a coffee or even have a full english breakfast.

From here you will start the first leg of the route (30 miles around 1 hour).  The route has been designed to include some of the best biking roads in Suffolk.

The Photographer (me) will be in first photo location, between 9:30 and 11:30 to catch all outbound riders.  The location, on a bend, has been chosen to give a superb backdrop against the countryside.

As there is always the chance of other vehicles spoiling the shot, there will be plenty of opportunity for multiple passes.

Leg 1 ends at The Meare Shop & Tearoom, Thorpeness where you can enjoy a cuppa, some cake or even a full lunch.

While you all have lunch the photographer (me again) will move to the second location.

After a chilled out break on the coast, you start the return leg (34 miles around 1 hour 45 minutes)

The Photographer (me) will be in the second photo location, between 12:30 and 14:30 to catch you all on the way back. Once again the location, on a bend, has been chosen to give a superb backdrop against the countryside and create a dynamic image of you on your bike.

The ride concludes back at The Broken Egg Cafe in Harleston.  alternatively, once you’ve passed me you can go wherever you like.

The route is based upon one taken from Simon Weir’s book, Bikers’ Britain and takes in some fantastic roads with the iconic Suffolk countryside as a backdrop.

Following the exact route is not obligatory.  It’s just a nice way to ensure you pass by the relevant photo locations.

50p from each image sold, from the day, goes to East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Registration is free and easy

So, why bother registering when you can just ride past and get your picture taken anyway?

Registered riders get:

  1. An email with full, printable route details and a GPX file that get be loaded onto your Garmin, Tom Tom and some navigation apps on your phone.
  2. A unique code that entitle you to reduced pricing for all images taken on that day (7.5% off digitals and prints).
  3. A guide on how to ensure that you maximise your chances of getting a good image.

Also registration allows me to judge just how viable this idea is.  If it’s successful then I shall run more of these until the weather finally puts an end to the biking season.

Just enter your name and email address below to register.

Please rest assured that entering your email below will not open you to a flood of spam messages.  The data is not stored on the website, it simply sends me an email with your address that I will respond directly to.

Once I have your address I will send you an email with all the relevant infomation.
